Christian Appalachian Project -

This web site has been created to inform users of the social, economic and spiritual needs that exist in the Appalachian area of the United States. It also serves as a tool to inform those interested in the mission and work being done by the Christian Appalachian Project to alleviate these problems.

The information provided on this site is based upon actual work experiences and is deemed to be accurate as to the extreme conditions that exist in Appalachia. We strive to reach the highest standards of stewardship and honor request by our users.   What follows is CAP's online privacy policy, which governs personal information gathered on our Internet site (http://sites.silaspartners.com/cap) consistent with policies established by the CAP Board of Directors.

CAP's Commitment to Online Security
Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. Donation information is encrypted whenever transmitted or received online. Personal information is accessible only by staff or volunteers designated to handle online concerns or requests. All CAP agents and contractors with access to personal information obtained on the CAP web site are also bound to adhere to this policy.

Depending on the part of the site you are on you may be asked to submit your name, address, email address, phone number, credit card number, name and address of friends and/or love ones, areas of interest at CAP, mail or email preferences at different places on this site. This information is only used to process your request such as an email to find out more about CAP.  The credit card information is only used when you specifically request to make a donation. Our privacy policy, with regard to the submission of your personal information and the visitation to our site, includes four areas:

If you are below 14 years of age please do not leave your email address.

How CAP Uses Personal Information Collected Online
Unless you consent, we will not use your personal information for any purpose other than that for which it is submitted. We use personal information to reply to inquiries, provide requested programming information and organizational record-keeping. At certain points where personal information is collected on our site, there may be a box where you may indicate you would like to be on a list to receive information about other CAP programs and services and about ways to support CAP. This election box only appears in places where the department collecting personal information maintains such lists. At any time you can add or remove your name from a CAP list by contacting us at
capinfo@chrisapp.org.

How Your Information May Be Shared
When we receive a request or inquiry we make every effort to respond as quickly as possible.  On occasion we must forward the request or inquiry to the appropriate CAP department. By sending us a request or inquiry, you are allowing us to forward your information to the appropriate CAP department.

Occasionally we exchange our donor file mailing list (name and address only) with other nonprofits to reduce cost through our list broker who is familiar with our privacy policy, as well as with those from other non-profits.  However, we do not exchange email addresses.  These other non-profits may have different privacy statements form CAP's.  Please read their privacy statements carefully.  If you do not wish for us to exchange your name and mailing address, please notify us by telephone (859-792-3051), mail (322 Crab Orchard Street, Lancaster, Ky   40446-0001), or by email at capinfo@chrisapp.org.
